I was cleaning out some email folders and came across these photos of a project I did for the premeire Rue Magazine. They feel so festive. The idea was to try a couple glitzier DIY projects like this wilderness wallpaper screen with gold leaf paint.
And tie back made with old brooches and chains, complemented by one of my favorite champagnes! Nothing like black, gold, and bubbly!
Here's a little outtake from a photo shoot earlier this year. Wallpapered fireplace screen. Perfect for non functioning fireplaces. And, in my case, a landlord who hasn't had the chimney cleaned, most likely, ever.
Just buy some precut, this particle board...
Slap on some wallpaper (in this case, Remix) with spray adhesive.
Fasten boards together with hinges or heavy duty tape (if you are lazy, like me). Also, maybe wear a safety mask or considering doing the project outside. This blurry picture indicates a spray adhesive fume overdose...
Boom. Done. Oh, and please don't tell me that my mirror tile looks like something you'd find on Jersey Shore, because I've already heard that ;)
Striped wallpaper went up last night.* I love them even more than I thought I would. Starting the black stripe at the top seems to make the room taller and the horizontal placement makes the room feel bigger. It is like I'm living in a 500 sq ft palace.
In other news, I decided to makeover this tray because the three other patterns weren't enough. Will show your the afters if/when I finish the revamp!
*For the record, I don't recommend wallpapering at night in a room that lacks a proper overhead light.
Here we have my favorite Squares Blanket hanging out on my couch waiting for colder weather, which I hear is coming tomorrow. I think I've mentioned my obsession with BIG roses more than a few times before - well, they are finally happening! Turn on an Established & Sons lamp for a touch of The Olde Bell vibe - check! And, if you want to read more about the Teepee fabric pillow click right here.
So fun to be on Oh Joy's blog today! Read about my stripes love right here. Note the touch of Ferm Living - as you might have noticed, you can't walk very few square feet in my apartment without running in to some Ferm, that is just the way it goes luckily! Unfortunately, we not longer carry that particular pillow. So sad. You know what they say about what happens when you snooze... Well, after the 5th snooze, anyway, you end up not making it again to your 7:00 yoga class that you promised yourself this time you would really make it to and start your morning feeling kind of like a loser? A well rested, happy loser, but still. Or, you lose out on a really pretty pillow?
Thank you Joy and Bri for the post! Oh, and if you want to read about the wallpaper installation, which, why wouldn't you? ;) click here...
